Stem cell labeling STELLA: In collaboration with AAA and University of Turin
The ultimate goal of this feasibility study is to create radio-labeled stem cells characterized in accordance with the requirements of cGMP to their identity and stability for the cell can use as tracers in future patients. The activity carried out by Procelltech focuses on identifying markers to beinvolved in "cell homing" and / or exclusively expressed by stem cellsexpanded.

This feasibility study aims to evaluate the applicability for the production of implantable biomedical devices, methodologies of manufacturing near net shape. The materials considered are titanium and its alloys (with particularreference to the alloy Ti-6Al-4V and the Nitinol). Procelltech is responsible for assessing the biocompatibility and absence of cytotoxicity of the materials produced.

The objectives of the project, sponsored by a CRT Foundation Research Scholarship are:
- ensure that MSCs obtained from patients and expanded in vitro after meeting the essential requirements to be considered potentially transplantable and have not been changed in terms of immunophenotype and
- understand which surface markers are maintained and are important in order to promote the 'homing' of MSCs.
