Two areas of application expertise and technology available in Procelltech:

• REGENERATIVE MEDICINE

  Regenerative medicine represents a new therapeutic approach aimed at regenerating the damaged tissue rather than the replacement or repair. Stem cells are the "weapons" of Regenerative Medicine. Stem cells are primitive cells with the non-specialized unique ability to transform into any other type of cell in the body. Because of their ability stem cells can potentially revolutionize medicine, allowing to repair specific tissues or organs to reproduce.

  Stem cells are a renewable source of cells that can replace, repair and regenerate damaged cells and tissues in many therapeutic areas:

  • Oncology
  • Endocrinology
  • Cardiovascular
  • Neurodegeneration (Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's, etc.)
  • Other

  In recent years some advanced therapy products were classified by international health agencies (EMA, FDA, AIFA) as medicinal products within the meaning of Annex I to Directive 2001/83/EC and thus their production and usage, even at the level of clinical trials, must be conducted in accordance to GMP guidelines in authorized facilities and with validated processes, product batches can be released only after conducting Quality Control Testing

• RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

  In the early stages of drug development is necessary:

  • check the "proof of concept" that demonstrates that the presumed mechanism of action of a new drug has a rational in the disease under study
  • determine the characteristics of the molecule under study in terms of power, functionality, stability etc
  • determine possible biomarkers
